German Football Stadiums (Daab Architecture & Design)
This is an excellent book which features the 12 stadiums used for the 2006 World Cup Finals. Despite its title it is only the World Cup stadiums that are featured. There is a very brief text for each stadium which is printed in 6 languages but this is predominantly a photographic book. The photographer is Dirk Wilhelmy, who specialises in design and architecture and his photographs are superb. Exterior and interior views of the stadiums are featured along with areas such as VIP lounges and bars. All photos are colour, are either full page or double spread and are excellent quality.
I would recommend this book to anybody interested in football stadiums. If you already own the equally excellent "Stadium Design", by the same publisher, do not be put off by this book as although some of the photos have been duplicated, most of the photos for this publication are new. This book is also better laid out and is half the size which makes it handier and easier to pick up to view its contents.
This book shows how impressive the German World Cup stadiums are and is also excellent value for money. This is certainly the best photographic book on football stadiums that I have ever seen.
